ADDRESSING COVID & HELPING SMALL BUSINESSES

To address the health concerns caused by COVID, Jon led the charge to secure $200 million in critical funding for testing and protective equipment. Jon’s efforts also included acquiring $4 million for Lakeville and $52 Million for Dakota County to assist in our needs and help our small business community with losses caused by imposed shutdowns.

In response to COVID orders closing restaurants and limiting dining
room capacity,
Jon authored and brought together a bipartisan
coalition to permit our restaurants make additional revenue by selling
wine and beer to-go.

CARING FOR OUR SENIORS

Jon knows senior citizens have faced many challenges over the past year. He has worked to protect nursing homes from harmful cuts, voted to reduce the tax on social security benefits and was responsible for getting Metro Mobility service to Lakeville for disabled seniors and seniors who aren’t able to drive.

Jon authored the bill that finally delivered service to Lakeville and saved the Met Council an estimated $8 million a year to pay for the Lakeville service.

taxes for working families.
